DM Sender for Reddit — Privacy Policy

1. Overview

DM Sender for Reddit ("the extension") is a Chrome extension published by RunByte that sends a Reddit private message to a recipient you specify. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data. It applies only to the browser extension, not to the RunByte website (see our main Privacy Policy for that).

2. We Do Not Collect Your Data

The extension has no backend server, uses no analytics, and sends no data to the developer or any third party. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal information. The only destination of your message is Reddit, when you choose to send it.

3. What the Extension Accesses, and Why

• Your Reddit session. Messages are sent using the Reddit account you are already logged into in your browser. The extension never asks for, sees, or stores your Reddit password or any login credentials. It opens Reddit's own message-compose page and submits it, exactly as you would by hand.
• The recipient, subject, and message you type. These are used only to fill in and submit Reddit's compose form. They are passed to Reddit when the message is sent and are not stored by the extension afterward.
• Local result status. The outcome of your most recent send (success or error, and the recipient username) is kept in the browser's temporary session storage so the popup can show you the status. It is cleared when the browser session ends and never leaves your device.
• RunByte dashboard integration. On the RunByte dashboard (runbyte.tech), the extension can receive a "send this DM" request from the page so you can start a message with one click. Only the recipient, subject, and message you chose are passed through; nothing is sent anywhere except to Reddit when you confirm.

4. Permissions We Request

The extension requests only the permissions it needs to function:

• storage — to remember the status of your last send so the popup can display it (session-only, on your device).
• tabs — to open Reddit's compose page in a background tab and report the result. The extension does not read the contents of your other tabs.
• reddit.com — to open and submit Reddit's message-compose page.
• runbyte.tech — to let the RunByte dashboard trigger a DM that you initiate.

5. Data Sharing

None. We do not share, sell, or rent your information. The only place your message goes is Reddit, when you send it.

DM Sender for Reddit is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. "Reddit" is a trademark of Reddit, Inc. Your use of Reddit remains subject to Reddit's own terms and policies.
